The dorsal fin continues the theme with its resplendent yellow/gold hue, while the lower fins and part of the belly are adorned in navy blue. In contrast, females exhibit a more subdued yet elegant grey/gold coloration with either faint navy blue stripes or OB blotches.

Social Butterflies of the Aquarium: Metriaclima Gold Kawanga are known for their excellent compatibility with other Lake Malawi mbuna species, provided they do not share a similar color palette.
