General: The Gold Tetra (Hemigrammus rodwayi) are a smaller species of Tetra, naturally occupying various wetland sections of the Amazonian River Basin. The Gold Tetra may reach a length of up to two inches, and should be kept in schools of five, per every ten gallons. A relatively reliable starter fish, the Gold Tetra will be a flashy addition to any peaceful beginner aquarium.

Aquarium Diet (Omnivore): Baby Brine Shrimp, Brine Shrimp, Bloodworms, Blackworms, Daphnia, Spirulina, Tropical Flake
Dimorphism: It is relatively difficult to distinguish between male, and female Gold Tetra (Hemigrammus rodwayi). The male Gold Tetra will typically have a distinct white patch on the anal fin. Also, the female will take on a more gravid appearance when ready to reproduce.
Compatibility: The Gold Tetra (Hemigrammus rodwayi) are typically compatible with Danio, Rasbora, Hillstream Loach, Dojo Loach, Kuhli Loach, Hatchetfish, Corydoras, Pencilfish, and other small species of Tetra.
