Pogostemon octopus

Pogostemon octopus is rarely seen in the hobby so it's exciting to be stocking it. Originating from Asia this plant grows to about 25cm so place it in the mid-ground of your tank. Relatively easy to grow and undemanding but it's well worth growing. Give it a trim once in a while to retain its shape and it will impress you.

This looks most magnificent as a group or large bush in the midground to background of large aquariums. Occasional trimming promotes bushy growth. The plant is also suited as emersed plant for well-lit paludariums and Wabi-Kusa, however its emersed green leaves are rather inconspicuous. One can expect its pretty purple flower spikes under short day conditions (coherent dark phase of more than 12 hours per day).
